AgriOpportunity, a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, helps farmers and agribusinesses in developing countries make the jump to participate in new market opportunities available in the local, regional and global economy. New opportunities for farmers and agribusinesses improve the livelihoods of rural communities and strengthen the local and global economies.

Through its work in promoting trade and economic activity, AFJ has identified critical path interventions that can allow farmers, agribusinesses and ancillary service providers to improve productivity and enter global markets. AgriOpportunity's is partnering with the Centre de Formation des Catéchistes in Gyelgen, Koupela, Burkina Faso and a U.S. based NGO Burkina Faso on Its Own (BFIO) to help promote agriculture development through farmer training. The Centre trains local farmers and their families on agricultural production techniques and other life skills as part of their spiritual formation of local parishioners. Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world and the residents of Koupéla are mostly small farmers with limited knowledge of modern farming techniques.

AgriOpportunity has worked with the Center and BFIO to develop a plan for investing in mechanized equipment to aid cultivation and transport of the Center's crops as well as local farmers and miners, and raised funds to pay for the investment. In addition, AgriOpportunity worked with the Center to identify infrastructure needs to operate the training center, including pumps, solar panels, and lightening protection. Working with the Center and BFIO, AgriOpportunity developed plans and raised funds to finance the activities.
